As of June 4, 2010, the LOMR is now in effect, which supersedes the previous mapping. Please use the following documents:

Notice Letter of LOMR effective date (Dated June 8, 2010)

Letter of Map Revision and Determination Document (Dated January 15 2010)

FEMA has the National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) overlay that functions nicely on top of Google Earth. You must have Google Earth installed and then download the "NFHL" kmz link on the following FEMA NFHL page:

The LOMR Determination Document has been issued. This document is the official document from FEMA that will set the effective date for the LOMR, that date being June 04, 2010.

See the LOMR Documents page here for more information.

A public information meeting will be scheduled in the near future (Late January/Early February 2010) at the Eagle-Vail Pavilion. Meeting information and attachments will be posted on the website when available.

There will be a floodplain meeting on Saturday, February 13, 2010 before the Annual Homeowner Meeting at the old Battle Mountain High School Auditorium.

In early 2008, several concerned citizens contacted the County for assistance with floodplain questions along Stone Creek. The original mapping effort for Stone Creek was performed in the early 1980's, and was not accurate in regards to the location of the Eagle-Vail Subdivision. Specifically, there are areas of Elk Lane, Deer Boulevard, and other areas that are shown to be within the regulatory floodplain. In these areas, the regulatory floodplain is completely outside of Stone Creek and Golf Club Creek.
